We pick up right where we left off on RAW 111--this is a stand alone volume, but you would need to view preceding volumes to discover how we got off of our back into the position of advantage. Here's a quick rundown of the drills included: All the following will end in a trio of submissions. The proper mechanics of using a Standing Wizzer to drill your opponent to the mat--it's all about the "twist" and zero to do with the "pull." Your opponent have good base? Well, we can address that in a half-dozen ways...We can use a subtle little wizzer hand assist pry to upset his hips. Want a little more "Oomph" on your drop, then you'll use the Outside Trip assist. Not enough "Oomph"? You want his heels skyward as he drops on his noggin right into your Reverse Lever? Well, then the Power Mule is your ticket to ride. Still want options? We hit two more with some hip tosses and standard mules. Got an opponent who's canny to all our forward drop attacks? Well, the fearsome Single-Grape Fall-Back will fix that in a cinch as well as bang the hell out of the man who has got to eat a double load of bodyweight as he hits the ground. There are times when your opponent will limp arm out of your wizzer on the way down--well, just as we used the Head-Pop Triplet to attack the head we will run a trio of go-to Leg Locks (+2 esoteric ones). 1.) The Tombstone Leg Bar 2.) The Pit Bar 3.) The Single & Double-Over Leg Scissors 4.) An Inside Crank for special circumstances & 5.) An In-the-Saddle Inside Heel Hook for the sub junkie. Back on the feet, if we assume our opponent has so much scramble in his wizzer defense you don't want to compromise your base by taking a foot off of the mat we make the drops more secure by using Single Scoops and Reverse Double Leg Takedowns. In total, 15 set-ups that lead into 2 Sets of Submission Triplet Plug-In Bad Libs to get your opponent off his feet, slammed to the mat, and hooked on mat contact.

Our latest commercially released DVD is the prefect introduction to our Down & Out Drilling concept featured on several RAWs and in our book FLOW CHAIN DRILLS. In a nutshell, Down & Out Drilling puts the mix into Mixed Martial Arts. Rather than train each element of the fight in a separate piecemeal fashion (boxing tonight, grappling tomorrow, and takedowns on Thursday, for example) Down & Out Drills illustrate how to make each and every training session an integrated whole of striking, shooting, clinching, ground and pound, and submissions.
This DVD introduces the concept with a 17-link drill set and then shows how to pull this same drill apart and insert new links to create entirely new drills for hundreds of hours of drilling.
This is a high-speed/low-drag volume that runs at a furious pace and clocks in at 55 minutes.
(240 pages) This book is number 14 (!) in our continuing series. Right up front, yes, you see that word "Boxer" on the cover and , yes, the books specific focus is conditioning for boxing but also the book is intended for conditioning all strikers. (To be frank, you can use this book for conditioning alone simply by ignoring the striking equipment sections.) Here's a little on what you'll find between the covers. In our typical long-winded digressive exposition of the scientific basis of our approach you'll find the following mini-essays: "Chance Favors the Prepared Mind," "10,000 Hours" (concerns the latest research regarding the journey from novice to master), stacking the odds in favor of even the novice with "Marginal Revolutions," "GPP vs. SPP" which weighs the two-dominant approaches to conditioning and how they stack when applied to fight training, "The Attributes Demand" chart, "More is Better?" to help you gain optimum results in less time than you think, "Tradition vs. Innovation" assesses old-school approaches with the new school along with a little myth-busting. All this and more + "Champion's Tale" sidebars that spotlight unusual training methods used by great champs of the past and present. Next, we move into "Floorwork" (boxing parlance for calisthenics) which we break into 6 Broad Categories: Pushing, Pulling, Legs, Core (and not a sit-up or crunch to be found in the bunch), True Floorwork, and Medicine Ball & Sledgehammer Work. 83 fighter specific calisthenics in all. Next, we run the Great 8 Plyometrics Drills to build some major explosiveness in the lower body. Then the 7 Old School Rules of Weight Training followed by 18 Bar Work exercises, 7 Dumbbell Exercises, and 4 Kettlebell Exercises that will comprise the iron portion of your training. We then show you how to assemble the workouts with 31 separate GPP Workouts for 3 levels (Rookies, Intermediate, and Advanced athletes). We then move into the striking equipment section (SPP) and introduce The Footwork Tango, a 14-Part Drill to hone all aspects of your ring footwork. Next, a 70 Item Combination Checklist for Plugging punch-combinations into different SPP Drills. Next, we compare and contrast Old School Roadwork (LSD) and New School Roadwork (Sprints) and then provide approaches for both with a dozen separate New School Sprint Drills to get more done in less time. We then move into an abbreviated Rope-Skipping section--Wanna know why it's so short? Read the book for the math. Next, we cover the 5 Rules of Heavy Bag Work and provide 17 separate drills to beat the mindless pounding doldrums. Then we apply an even dozen drills for Shadow/Mirror work. Then 14 Double-End Bad drills. 10 Rope-Weaving Drills. Rope-Weaving is a woefully under-utilized old school method that builds exceptional upper-body movement. Next, the 5 Commandments of Focus Pads and 13 alternate approaches to this exceptional piece of gear. The relative merits and demerits of Sparring along with 20 Sparring Drills to always keep your brain (and jab) popping. And we close with resources to add to these drills as well as how to fold your Flow Drills/Down & Out Drills into your strike training.
Many of you are familiar with our no-nonsense approach to self-defense; actual street-defense as opposed to transferring MMA skills to an arena they have no business in. We delved into the topic in great detail in our book No Second Chance. Since the publication of that book we have expanded upon the principles within it greatly and have taken steps to quantify and codify the information found within that manual. We have expanded that information so far beyond the covers of that book that that expansion is reflected in our NSC Certification Program the details follow.
1-MINDSETTING/PERSPECTIVE--The NSC Manual & NSC Book of Homework Assignments.
2-THE VOCABULARY--The NSC unarmed vocabulary & drills vs. unarmed attacks (static & fluid).
3-"X" WEAPON SYSTEM--Improvised weapons and defense against weapons--the "X" is both an attacking pattern and an unknown variable.
4-THE OUTER LIMITS--Chaos and entropy drills.
5-FLIGHT--Focusing on the 2nd word in the Fight or Flight dictum. We strive to supply a pragmatic vocabulary of movement/evasion skills to this ignored area.
6-FIRE DRILLS--Environment specific plans--car jacking scenarios and the like.
Tier One requirements are satisfied with the completion of a phone interview and a passing grade on our book of NSC Homework Assignments.
Tier Two is satisfied with either video evaluations of THE VOCABULARY or, completion of an NSC: Vocabulary Boot Camp.
Tier Three--The same requirements as Tier Two.
Tier Four is where the rubber meets the road. This certification is only issued after completion of a full 2-day NSC Outer Limits Boot Camp.
Tier Five follows the protocol of Tiers Two & Three.
Tier Six is completed with participation in a NSC: Fire Drills Boot Camp.

"In my line of work I have had the opportunity to train with some of the best CQC and DT guys out there. Mark and the members of ESP are by far in that league. The level of knowledge, skill, and enthusiasm for what they teach is by far unsurpassed by anyone. You could not ask for better instruction."

"The ESP seminar was fantastic! The instructors had a great deal of knowledge of the subjects that they covered. I found it to be quite valuable and to be a great asset in my job at Have a Nice Day Cafe."
--Brady Murphy, Bouncer
"This was an exceptionally well taught and practical self-defense class. As a working policeman/patrol officer, I feel that I would be able to use the techniques taught tonight once I leave the class, as opposed to some other schools where you would have to practice many years and the techniques still might not work. These techniques will work."

We have many products, in addition to the ESP RAWs and products listed above coming up in the years ahead, including:
(Fall of 2012) Punching and boxing are not the same thing. Punching is what you do with your fists on the heavy bag. Punching is a blind flurry in response to an attack. Boxing, on the other hand, is science. Boxing is more about reaction than action. Most of us can look good throwing shots with no pressure, but it is what you do in response to punches being thrown at you that determines whether you are a boxer or merely someone who punches. It is what you do in-between those punches that separate the boxer from the puncher. True boxing is, essentially, a story of counter-fighting and this comprehensive manual seeks to offer you a complete course in elite counter-attack. You'll learn all the defenses to every shot whether your hands are in prime position or cheated out of play, and then utilize accompanying drills that educate the most pragmatically tactical response based on which shot you've defended with which defense. Novice to pro will find drills of all levels to suit their needs and all drills are separated by category so that you can mix-and-match to tailor to specific strengths, weaknesses, or even opponents.
These are the wildest sets of eccentric exercises you've ever seen. These challenges will build agility, balance, strength, muscular endurance, blow the lungs apart, as well as make a spectacle of yourself as you bounce around the gym in a manner befitting our primate cousins.
Covers the situation where you are caught on the ground, but your opponent is on his feet. We run through the three ranges of defense, strikes from the ground, and submissions from the ground; then we flip the equation and cover how to enter on the grounded opponent.
Chokes, Cranks, and Snaps using your opponent's street clothes as handles.
Here we demonstrate the sport specific weight lifting exercises to push your combat power through the roof. Trust me; these are not your standard lifts. The only items of equipment needed are weight plates, a barbell, and two dumbbells. No bench, no nothing.
Just like it sounds. We take the specificity and synergy principles and provide dozens and dozens of combat specific strength and endurance exercises in which the only equipment needed is yourself and a training partner.
Street and cage matches both provide a unique factor; the use of the vertical surface in the combat environment. Most combat arts focus only on standing or the ground. Here, we run the complete offensive and defensive arsenals for finishing the man once he's on the wall, and perhaps more importantly, what to do when your back is to the wall.
We pitch more of our trademark submission chains featuring dozens of new Hooks for salivating mat fans.
Everything you need to know about dropping your man to the mat.
In this instructional video we will show you the how's, when's, and why's in great detail of this little understood aspect of wrestling. Leg rides covered include: Hooks In, Cockle-Burr, Saturday Night Ride, Highball Ride, Splitters, Groin Rides, Navy Rides, Hook Rides, Figure-Four Rides, Scissors Rides, Cross Scissors Rides, Banana Splits, Low Cal Banana Splits, and more. You will learn the rides as well as drills for placing them, and natural follow-up submissions.
"This was my second time in training with the ESP instructors, and it's getting better each time. Unlike many other training courses, you can walk out of one of these seminars and put the techniques to work right away. I feel that if you ever get a chance to attend one of the seminars, you owe it to yourself and loved ones to attend, and with the reasonable fee, there is no excuse not to attend."

"The seminar that the ESP staff presented to us was one of the best I've ever attended. Our security crew immediately was able to apply the knowledge we attained from the ESP system. The techniques were simple, but extremely effective and have been used over and over again to ensure the safety of our crew and other patrons of our nightclub. I would highly recommend any security personnel take the time to work with the ESP staff. This is an investment that will prove its worth many times over in real-life situations."
